Madagascar was released in 2005. It has mainly 4 main characters. Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Gloria the hippo and Melman the giraffe. The story starts at Central Park Zoo which is supposed be located in New York. Marty is celebrating his tenth birthday with his friends but is yearning to see outside the zoo- the world and believes there are wide-open spaces in which he could run rather than his pampered life at the zoo. Alex doesnt want Marty to leave so he tries persuading him by singing a song but Marty decides to ask the penguins-* Skipper, Rico, Private and Kowalski.
