Lost by Jacqueline Davies
This story takes place in the early
1900’s , Essie Rosenfield works at Triangle Shirtwasist Factory in Manhattan, a
low paying company and is determined to make money to provide for her younger
sister and brother. While working there she meets this odd person, that doesn’t
seem to be working in the right place. Harriet is her name, she ran away from
home, is educated and well dressed and the longer she knows her the more
secrets she uncovers while slowly telling her own sad secrets, that she never
tells to anyone. They both have something in common, they both lost and are at
the wrong place, she shouldn’t have been at the factory working, because there
are more things that are more important than providing for brother’s and sister’s
and for Harriet she made a regretful mistake.
