Inkheart by Cornelia Funke

"Twelve-year-old Meggie learns that her father, who repairs and binds books for a living, can "read" fictional characters to life when one of those characters abducts them and tries to force him into service.

Characters from books literally leap off the page in this engrossing fantasy. Meggie has had her father to herself since her mother went away when she was young. Mo taught her to read when she was five, and the two share a mutual love of books. He can "read" characters out of books. When she was three, he read aloud from a book called Inkheart and released characters into the real world. At the same time, Meggie's mother disappeared into the story. This "story within a story" will delight not just fantasy fans, but all readers who like an exciting plot with larger-than-life characters."

This doesn't seem like a book i would read, but when my mom bought it home one day and suggested I read it...I decided that I would actually give it a shot. What amazed me was the impressive words they used, which had definitely portrayed a bold and realistic movie in my head. I don't know why...but I had the doubts to read the story aloud for I might risk taking the chance to bring this story to life..yes I am very gullible and perhaps, childish. :$ I like reading books out loud when no one is around me, I just understand everything better. I would probably rate this book a 9/10 because it had an intriguing plot, but in general, I am not quite interested in adventurous or fantasy novels as some of my friends do. If you are the type to, I would definitely recommend this to you! I didn't watch the movie, but I found a trailer to show that might provoke you into reading this book. :)

HERE YOU GO :) :
