Okay so I just finished reading Switched by Amanda Hocking and I am DYING to read Torn by Amanda Hocking, which is the next book in the series. I couldn't find it at the Brighouse Branch and I am not sure where it is. :/ I don't really know how to use eBooks and has never. Any idea where the book is and how I could find it?? :/ I don't know how eBook works either, is it like where you buy the book online? Thanks for any suggestions!
TORN COVER:
So, if you're using an Ipad or Ipod you can download the app 'overdrive', this allows you to read e-books from the library on it. You'll want to go to add a new library (I use the British Colombia site and the Richmond site), and you just search for your book. Add it to cart, and proceed to checkout. If you have any problems with this method, let me know.
ReplyDeleteYou can also use adobe I believe. If you want to read the books on the computer. To be completely honest, I don't know how this method works as I read the e-books on my mom's ipad. I'm presuming you add it to cart and proceed to checkout in the same fashion.
Also, you could always purchase it on Amazon. You'll need an account to make any purchases though. The used ones are only around 4.00, and the new are 5.00. Both without shipping costs though. There's a kindle version if you'd like to spend money on that You can download kindle for the computer and read it there. Kindle is also helpful as there are free e-books you can take out as well.
Worst case scenario, Chapters.
Hopefully that helped. :D
MUCH EASIER METHOD!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou can put a hold on it. ----> http://virtus.yourlibrary.ca:8080/lib/item?id=chamo:392980&theme=RPL
Didn't realize it, but there's copies available at the library. If you have any problems with this, you can let me know as well. :D
The spacing went all weird for some reason... :/
Deleteoh my gosh, LOL I'm glad you gave me so many suggestions! Thank you so much, but wouldn't reading a book on your ipod or ipad feel uncomfortable?? I will give that a try, it works on iphones too right?
ReplyDeleteYeah, it works on iphones too. It depends on how sensitive your eyes are, you can adjust the brightness of your iphone if you find that your eyes are feeling wonky. I think you can also alter the text size. However, it's much more comfortable to read on an ipad, since the screen and words are bigger.
DeleteBUUUUUUUUUUUT, you can get the book from the library itself, you just have to put a hold on it first. This is a much easier method. :D

I don't know why but my computer is probably really slow, I just saw your last two comments. Good idea, I put a hold on it. Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteNo problem. :)
DeleteYou should still check out overdrive though. There's a lot of books there that aren't on the available at the library. :D
- ENJOY THE BOOK! >:D
Never mind...I don't know why but it says my bar code or my pin number is wrong so I can't put a hold on it :/ I had like 5 attempts..
ReplyDeleteI guess...go ask at the library? You should also try the last 4 digits of a phone number maybe?
DeleteI'll ask the library, but I tried the last four digits already. :/ Thank you so much for your help though!!
